Design / Production Intern
We are looking for a design or fashion production student to join us in the studio. This is a working internship — you will report directly to our Design Director and work alongside our in-house sample maker, involved in the real, day-to-day process of building a collection. It is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants direct exposure to how an independent luxury brand actually works, from concept through construction.
Schedule is flexible and can be structured around academic commitments. Full-time during summer or part-time during the school year — we are open to both.
What You'll Do
- Assist with sample making, draping, and garment construction under the guidance of the Design Director and our in-house tailor.
- Support fittings and alterations, including pressing, pinning, and finishing work.
- Help maintain studio organization — fabric inventory, notions, trims, and sample storage.
- Assist with sourcing materials and trims as needed.
- Make runs to the Garment District for fabric, trims, notions, and supplies.
- Contribute to pattern work and technical development depending on skill level.
- Observe and participate in the full production process from initial sample through final garment.
Who You Are
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in fashion design, apparel production, or a related field.
- Hands-on sewing experience is required — comfort with a machine and basic construction techniques.
- Detail-oriented, patient, and genuinely excited about garment construction.
- Draping or patternmaking experience is a plus.
- A strong eye for quality, fit, and finish.
- Eager to learn in a fast-paced, studio environment.
Compensation
$20 per hour, or academic credit for students whose programs support it.
